In the realms of cognitive science, philosophy of mind, and formal logic, the terms concept, notion, and category are frequently utilized to describe how human intelligence structures reality. While colloquially treated as synonyms, they represent distinct stages, mechanisms, and structures of cognitive processing. This article provides a rigorous academic analysis of these three constructs, delineating their structural definitions, operational boundaries, and cognitive functions. By mapping their differences, we clarify how the human mind moves from subjective intuition to structured classification.
