THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF DEVELOPING INDEPENDENT LEARNING BASED ON CORPUS EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES IN TEACHING ENGLISH TO STUDENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

The rapid development of information and communication technologies has significantly transformed foreign language education, creating new opportunities for student-centered and autonomous learning. Among contemporary educational innovations, corpus-based educational technologies have emerged as effective tools for enhancing language acquisition and fostering independent learning skills. This article explores the theoretical and methodological foundations of developing independent learning through corpus educational technologies in teaching English to students of higher education institutions. The study examines the pedagogical potential of corpus linguistics, analyzes the factors contributing to the development of learner autonomy, and discusses the role of corpus tools in improving students' linguistic competence. The findings indicate that corpus-based learning promotes critical thinking, research skills, digital literacy, and autonomous language learning, thereby contributing to the overall quality of English language education in higher education settings.
